Electric Drive Transportation Association Board of Directors Expansion Reflects Industry Growth, Membership Diversity

During its Board of Directors meeting in Washington, D.C. on July 10 and 11, the Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA) announced new leadership for its Board of Directors, as well as a number of new board members.

 

Mary Ann Wright, vice president of global technology & innovation for  Johnson Controls, Inc. began her tenure as the association's new Chair. Wright succeeds Ted Craver, chairman, president & CEO of Edison International , who EDTA Board members recognized at the meeting for his outstanding contributions to the electric drive industry. In addition, the Board elected Deb Frodl, senior vice president and chief strategy officer for General Electric Capital Fleet Services, as EDTA's new Vice-Chair. 

 

Also honored during the proceedings was EDTA's former Chairman of the Board, Tony Posawatz, who recently retired from General Motors (GM). EDTA lauded his invaluable services to the association and his work to advance the electrification of transportation in the U.S. Posawatz joined GM in 1980 and retired as the vehicle line director for the Chevy Volt.

 

As the association grows in size and diversity, EDTA's leaders also welcomed several new board members reflecting these new dynamics.

EDTA President Brian Wynne welcomed the incoming Board leadership and members, voicing his support for the expansion. The electric drive industry is transforming and is in a period of unprecedented growth. Wynne said. Our new board members include experienced leaders and distinguished innovators across industry sectors, adding to the great diversity of our organization and enhancing our capabilities to meet the welcome demands of an expanding industry.
