Sempra Utilities/SDGE
SDG&E is a regulated public utility that provides safe and reliable energy service to 3.4 million consumers through 1.4 million electric meters and 830,000 natural gas meters in San Diego and southern Orange counties. In August of 2006, SDG&E established the Clean Transportation Program. This program addresses the growing interest by SDG&E customers in a variety of alternative electric transportation technologies, including electric vehicles. Driven by the national priorities to reduce fuel consumption, promote the use of electricity as an alternative fuel, reduce dependence on foreign oil and also to assist in achieving the environmental priorities for the state of California relative to transportation, we want to support our customers in identifying clean transportation opportunities in the San Diego service area.
