Washington, DC — July 27,
2010 — The Board of Directors of the Electric
Drive Transportation Association (EDTA) has
elected Edison International’s Chairman and
CEO Theodore F. Craver Jr., as Co-Chairman of
the EDTA Board. He succeeds John E.
Bryson, retired chairman and CEO of Edison
International. Craver will serve alongside
Co-Chairman Tony Posawatz, vehicle line
director for the Chevrolet Volt, General
Motors.
“Ted Craver brings to
EDTA a wealth of experience and a strong
commitment to advancing the electrification of
the U.S. transportation sector,” said EDTA
President Brian Wynne. “He takes over this
leadership role at a critical time for the
organization. The coming year presents
opportunities and challenges as the industry
ramps up manufacturing of plug-in electric
vehicles and advanced batteries, utilities and
municipalities prepare for customer adoption
and the private and public sector work to build
consumer demand.”
“By ensuring the
customer experience with plug-in vehicles is
positive, we will encourage the widespread
deployment of plug-in electric vehicles and
thereby reduce greenhouse gases, other
emissions and the country’s dependence on
foreign oil,” said Craver. “As the
preeminent organization focused on
electrification of the transportation sector,
EDTA has a historic role in bringing together
policymakers, industry leaders and other
stakeholders to accommodate the deployment of
plug-in vehicles."
