WASHINGTON – Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA) President Genevieve Cullen issued the following statement after submitting comments to the Federal Highway Administration on the NEVI program guidance:
“EDTA appreciates the Administration's recent confirmation of the NEVI program’s goals and funding for electric transportation infrastructure. The proposed streamlining and greater state discretion offer an opportunity to accelerate deployment and expand access to charging across the U.S.A.
“Today, we submitted comments to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), including recommendations for further steps to ensure NEVI funds are used efficiently to serve communities across the nation and to enable the program to adapt to evolving technologies and charging needs.
“EDTA values the opportunity to participate in this process and looks forward to working with FHWA to ensure the success of this vital program.”
