WASHINGTON – Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA) President Genevieve Cullen today released the following statement in response to the passage of HR 1 by the U.S. Senate:
“Today, the Senate has endorsed and magnified the House’s terribly short-sighted decisions on electrification and signaled to the world that the U.S. is not interested in competing in this transformative market. HR 1 puts American progress and billions of dollars in private U.S. investment at risk and gives China and other competitors a huge market advantage.
“Unless there is a real course change before the final version, this bill is a net loss for innovation, domestic manufacturing and American workers. A winning U.S. energy policy must look forward, not in the rearview mirror.”
