Industry Engagement

EDTA brings our members, representing the entire value chain of e-mobility, together to advance electrification through membership events, advocacy initiatives, and education. We provide unique opportunities for collective action and industry networking through our ongoing Policy Committee work, the EDTA Annual Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill, and EDTA's General Membership and Board of Directors meetings. We also bring the entire EV community together for special events, including the EDTA Leader Series and our global work with the World Electric Vehicle Association (WEVA) and the Electric Vehicle Symposium (EVS).

EDTA Annual Advocacy Day

The EDTA Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill is an annual opportunity for our members to educate policymakers about the industry, the benefits of EVs in their states, and what Washington can do to build opportunity and leadership in electric transportation. This event – exclusive to EDTA Members and free as a member benefit – includes a customized schedule of meetings with key policymakers and staff, with orientation and materials provided by EDTA.

EDTA Membership Meetings are a valuable opportunity to join industry colleagues and policy experts to share insights on the electric drive marketplace and policy trends. Our members also have a chance to network with fellow EDTA members at receptions and dinners. Meet our diverse membership.

EDTA Board of Directors

Membership on EDTA's Board of Directors provides high-value opportunities to meet and collaborate with other industry leaders, engage with invited speakers and chart the priorities of the Association. EDTA Leader Series

EDTA's Leader Series is designed to provide deep-dive conversations on topical and pressing issues in the EV landscape. The events – held in-person and virtually via webinar – feature industry and policy experts discussing developments, trends and recommendations for advancing e-mobility.

Electric Vehicle Symposium (EVS)

The Electric Vehicle Symposium (EVS) is the premier showcase for industry innovation and is the longest-running international conference devoted to electric transportation and technologies. Rotating among North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region since 1969, EVS gathers global industry and thought leaders to share insights and innovations in electrification. EVS provides a wide array of opportunities for electric drive leaders to showcase their work, learn from other experts, and educate the public and the media about electric transportation.

EDTA will host EVS39 when it returns to North America in June 2026.

World Electric Vehicle Association (WEVA)

EDTA is a founding partner of the World Electric Vehicle Association (WEVA), launched in 1990. WEVA is a non-profit organization that promotes the research, development, and deployment of electric drive vehicles and consists of three regional organizations: the Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA), the European Association for Electromobility (AVERE), and the Electric Vehicle Association of Asia Pacific (EVAAP). These three international associations promote electric vehicle concepts and policies in North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region, respectively.

WEVA organizes the internationally renowned Electric Vehicle Symposium (EVS), bringing together leaders from industry, government and academia to advance electrification around the globe.

World Electric Vehicle Journal

The World Electric Vehicle Journal (ISSN 2032-6653) is the first peer-reviewed international scientific journal that covers all studies related to battery, hybrid, and fuel cell electric vehicles comprehensively. It is the official journal of The World Electric Vehicle Association (WEVA) and its member the European Association for e-Mobility (AVERE), the Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA), and the Electric Vehicle Association of Asia Pacific (EVAAP). It is published quarterly online by MDPI from Volume 9, Issue 1 (2018).
