Following the U.S. EPA release of the Final Rule on Greenhouse Gas Emissions Standards for Heavy-Duty Vehicles Phase 3, EDTA President Genevieve Cullen issued the following statement:

"EPA’s “Greenhouse Gas Emissions Standards for Heavy-Duty Vehicles – Phase 3” is an ambitious and important step forward in reducing commercial vehicle emissions. An increasingly electrified truck fleet will deliver essential environmental and economic benefits to the nation.

"EDTA appreciates that the Clean Truck Plan recognizes diverse electric drive pathways, including hybrid vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, battery electric vehicles, and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, will all contribute to reducing heavy-duty emissions and speeding the transition to e-mobility.

"As the electric drive industry is building these options, consistent signals in federal regulation, incentives and public investment are critical to achieving our shared goals for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing U.S. leadership in electrification."
